Cytovance Biologics, Inc. a biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing company specializing in the production of therapeutic proteins and antibodies from mammalian cell culture, today announced the addition of Valerie McDonnell as Vice President of Sales and Business Development. 

Valerie McDonnell has more than 22 years experience in the Biotech Industry.  Prior to joining Cytovance Biologics, Ms. McDonnell served as Vice President of Sales at Althea where she had the overall responsibility for all client relationship development.  Additionally, she played an active role in the Marketing and Business Development function, ensuring that company awareness is aligned with client needs and expectations. Ms. McDonnell is experienced in client relations and uses her expertise to guide her clients through their drug development and manufacturing requirements.  Prior to joining Althea she held a Study Director position at BioReliance where she was responsible for client programs in the Molecular Biology Department.  She also worked at The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) under the guidance of Craig Venter and Claire Fraiser and participated in the Haemophilus influenzae sequencing program.  Ms. Mc Donnell holds a BS in Microbiology from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in Biotechnology from John’s Hopkins University.
