The Process development scientist participates in the entire range of analytical development activities including the development/qualification of assay conditions, assay transfer, and performance of assays to support process development, manufacturing, formulation development, and stability studies.

Responsibilities:

• Performance of  ELISA, HPLC, enzymatic, and electrophorectic (SDS-PAGE, Western,  IEF, & CE) analysis of protein biopharmaceuticals to support process development, manufacturing, formulation  development, and stability studies
• Design, develop, qualify, and transfer analytical assays
• Qualify laboratory equipment as required
• Perform data acquisition, reduction and evaluation
• Write standard operating procedures, project reports, and qualification documents
• Specify and source new analytical equipment to expand the analytical capabilities of the analytical development laboratory.
• Serve as a liaison with analytical subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. preferred in biochemistry or related science
• A combination of 2-5 years of laboratory experience that may be a combination of Post -Doctoral, Academic or Industrial settings
• Demonstrated expertise with a range of protein/glycoprotein analytical techniques including ELISA, HPLC, enzymatic, and electrophorectic (SDS-PAGE, Western blots, IEF, & CE) procedures
• Experience with glycoprotein analysis preferred
• Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot assays is required
• Able to work in a semi-independent manner and exercise good judgment  based on experimental data
• Strong  written and oral communication skills.
• Able to function well in a multiple project environment
