Steven D. Perry Brings 18 years of Industry Experience in Biotech Manufacturing to Cytovance
OKLAHOMA CITY , Okla. (January 31, 2006) – Cytovance Biologics® today named Steven D. Perry vice president of manufacturing operations. Perry will oversee the clinical production of biopharmaceuticals at Cytovance's 44,000 square foot biologics contract manufacturing facility, located in the Presbyterian Health Foundation Research Park in Oklahoma City , Okla. Validation of the state-of-the-art facility for cGMP production is anticipated to be completed this summer.
Mr. Perry, a biotechnology industry executive with 18 years of experience leading and coordinating the manufacture of biopharmaceutical products, has joined the senior management team of Cytovance. He has built an impressive track record with industry-specific experience in large-scale cGMP production of monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins, process engineering management, and facility design, construction and startup. His background includes work as senior director of commercial manufacturing with ImClone Systems Inc. in New Jersey, where he was responsible for production of Erbitux®. Mr. Perry also held engineering and operations management roles with Ortho Biotech, the first biotechnology subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. At Ortho Biotech, his responsibilities included production of Eprex® at sites in the United Kingdom and Puerto Rico . Mr. Perry is a licensed professional engineer and has a vast amount of specialized expertise and training in his field.

The 44,000 square foot biopharmaceutical manufacturing space will house Cytovance's cGMP cell culture and purification production capacity with all associated support infrastructure. The custom-designed facility also features space for expansion of production capacity in support of Cytovance's general business or on a customer-specific basis.
